Come Celebrate- Saturday, October 13th, from 1-3 pm.

Do YOU love the Pawlet Library? Of course you do! Come and celebrate the birthday of the Pawlet Library with us on Saturday, October 13th, from 1-3 PM. This October marks the tenth anniversary of the library’s rebirth in the historic three-room schoolhouse in the heart of Pawlet Village.

As part of the celebration, at 1:00 there will be a talk by the creators of the Pawlet 250th Anniversary Quilt. From selecting the pattern and fabrics and choosing the themes, and pulling it all together,  the quilters will tell the story of how this beautiful town heirloom came into being.

And at 2:00 there will be the unveiling of the Pawlet Library’s newest addition: the Jordan Dollhouse. Painstakingly created over the course of a decade by Pawlet residents Bill and Charlotte Jordan, the dollhouse features inlaid floors, cedar shingled roof, wrap-around porch and electric wiring. Special thanks to Charlotte and Bill for this wonderful gift to the library, to be enjoyed by generations of visitors to come.

For kids there will be a chance to draw a picture or write a story about “Why I LOVE the Pawlet Library!” (Stories and pictures may be created in advance or that day- limit one page per masterpiece please.) One picture and one story will each win a gift certificate to the Northshire Bookstore.

The celebration is free and open to the public; birthday cake and cider will be among the refreshments. Come help us celebrate our favorite community resource!!

For more information please call the library at: 325-3123.
